UHSPA Uganda teams up with HRAPF to oppose Equal Opportunities Commission Act in Constitutional Court
Uhspa Uganda has teamed up with Human Rights Awareness and Promotion Forum ( HRAPF) to contest the unfair treatment of Ugandan homosexuals in the Equal Opportunities Commission Act. The activists seen here last week petitioned the registrar of Uganda's Constitutional Court, challenging a section of the act that bars homosexuals from equal treatment and opportunity. Attorney General of Uganda, Constitutional petition No.1 of 2009, asking to nullify Section 15(6) d of the Equal Opportunities Commission Act 2007. Section 15(6) d can be used to discriminate against LGBTI persons. Adrian Jjuuko, the plaintiff in this case, is the Executive Director of the Human Rights Awareness and Promotion Forum (HRAPF).
